Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter by Blaize Clement

This was another book club pick and was a quick cozy mystery.
Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter (A Dixie Hemingway Mystery #1)
St. Martin's

Dixie Hemingway does not expect murders and mayhem to be a part of her pet sitting service; she thought she left that behind when she left the sheriff's department. When one of her clients ends up murdered along with the client's lover, and Dixie is left with the cat. Dixie's curiosity leads her to search for the killer, which endangers her own life. Along with the murders, Dixie is also still coping with the loss of her husband and daughter and her loss of control during a law enforcement situation. Dixie must control her emotions and stay one step ahead of the killer or she may end up his/her next victim.

This was a quick read with several interesting secondary characters, including the victim's grandmother, Dixie's brother and his partner, and a talented young pianist. This is the first in a series and I would be interested in reading another of Dixie's cases. 3.5 cups of cocoa.
